89-8 bipartisan vote in Senate...Congress?

It is up to Congress...we shall see what they do. I can't imagine them not passing this through...but then again, we are talking about people like Boehner! So anything is possible. These men and women on the right are looking out for one thing...the wealthy Americans. They could care less about middle class families. They are dysfunctional to say the least...corrupt is a better term to me...but we will stick with dysfunctional bc they are NOT functioning. This term was used by a (Dem) majority leader Senator Harry Reid and I liked it in describing the current congress men and women. Such a shame and so embarrassing from an international stand point. People cannot believe our representatives do not know how to compromise. Both sides are embarrassing...but as JFK said...."We cannot negotiate with people who say, 'What's mine is yours and what's yours is negotiable.'" The Democrats compromised...let's see if the Republicans can.

  1. Maybe this is why some people are hesitiant to just keep the blank check flowing on the premise that "the rich pay more" so we can cut the deficit.

Yes, I realize it is Foxnews - but I doubt you will be debating most of the statistical facts of the article - I think the 16% figure is stretched a bit. But the rest are just facts - more deficits, more deficits, more deficits. Just keep it coming.

Its a sad day in America when people look at some in Congress who say, "wait a minute - what happened to the spending cuts we have been talking about all along that were suppose to come with the tax increases. The GOP voted for a tax increase but I am surprised it had the votes to pass with all of the spending cuts getting sucked out of this deal.

Tax and spend - someday that won't work anymore.

    1. Sorry, but I think it is ridiculous that grown men cannot compromise. It is seriously sad how long this deal took. But I am totally willing to say both sides bended...most Democrats are upset that the President bent so much and of course staunch righties are upset that the .6% were taxed...and that HEAVEN forbid the deal helped out people with unemployment. News flash!! This presidency has spent less than previous Presidencies. It is so skewed by the media and others to make it seem like the Government should close the safe and not spend one penny. To me that would be irresponsible. It is not what the government is for. Having said that, all men are serious about tackling the debt issue. Not seeing that is being blind.
