What I didn't like about the DNC

1. This is not at the DNC but it was the ad that implied that Romney allowed a company to fail only to watch a man and his wife suffer.  This man and his wife lost insurance and she then died bc of cancer. I don't like that the strong implication is that Romney indirectly stood back and watched this woman die and this man suffer bc of her illness and death. However, it is a GREAT talking point for Romney's beliefs that the housing market needs to bottom out and the American Car industry needs to tank. It is also a good lead into the need for health care reform and pre-existing conditions, and how if you have ever had cancer you will not be able to get insurance coverage again.

2. I did not like the constant joking about the Swiss and Cayman bank accounts. It was funny, but over done. And although true...kinda unnecessary to keep digging at it.

3. I did not like that a few of the speakers took the bait from Republican speeches and made some or part of their speech negative just to feed into this years RNC.  I do not think they bashed Romney NEARLY as much as they bashed Obama...but I would have LOVED a clear cut "higher road" taken by all the speakers at the DNC.

4. I did not like that it was not longer...and I cannot wait for more! I also can't wait for the debates! Fun, fun!

  1. What is the Dummy Craps issue with bank accounts outside of the US anyway? It is not a tax loophole - I can tell you that for sure. Doesn't matter where your money is - if you are earning interest on it, you are paying US taxes on the earnings. Period. As for the rest of the conversation - what is the point? Honestly? To show he is rich? To make those without Swiss bank accounts not want to vote for him because he is too wealthy? Or to make people think he isn't supporting America because his money is elsewhere (100% false argument - I will challenge you with facts if you wanna bring it on that). Or is it to mislead the public that doesn't know any better into think he is evading taxes or not supporting American people via his foreign money - and therefore not vote for him? Bingo!! This is what the Dummy Craps are calling Ryan on the carpet for in his speech - the real fact checkers aren't saying he lied about the Janesville plant - the fact checkers are saying he "misled" the public. Let's compare and contrast the Ryan comments about Janesville with the Blue Team's comments about foreign bank accounts.

  2. I am not arguing with you about the bank accounts...I hope you got that. I think it is silly. It is true that he has them, but it holds no weight in the election. Sorry but the Janesville plant thing from RYAN is 100% false. And who are the "real" fact checkers? I don't ever use the "blue team's" fact checker. haha. I love how you can't say the word Democrat. :) But I use nonpartisan websites. There are about 100 out there.
But the Democrats only joked about and stated he had bank accounts...you can call it misleading if you choose...but you cannot compare the 2 comments in my book. One is a lie the other is a joke that spun out over the course of many of the speeches last night.
I do not like out sourcing however, want to talk about that? :)
I am glad we agree that the bank accounts are silly to talk about. And in short I would agree with you that they keep bringing it up to emphasize Romney's disconnect with the middle class. It might have been effective that way, but it was not a lie.
